V, ABC’s promising reboot of the ’80s alien-invasion drama, is getting a new leader even before the show makes it to the airwaves.

Scott Rosenbaum has been named show-runner and executive producer of the new sci-fi show, which debuts Tuesday, according to Variety.

Rosenbaum (Chuck, The Shield) replaces Scott Peters, V’s executive producer and chief writer, who will stay on as an executive producer (along with Jace Hall).

V, which debuts at 8 p.m. EST Tuesday on ABC, will air for only four episodes before an extended hiatus. The show will finish its 13-episode Season 1 run in the spring.
